1995 Resolution by the government saying that the language of instruction should be a Bantu language    
1996 A manual for teachers: "PROGRAMA DO ENSINO PRIMÁRIO DO 1o GRAU" contains nothing about Bantu languages. Part of the introductory work in the revision of education which became necessary after the Marxist-leninist era.

2003 The first schools started the present EB-project.

Progresso assumes responsibility of Shimakonde, Emakhuwa, Kimwani, Ciyao and Cinyanja, in the provinces Cabo Delgado, Niassa e Nampula.

In Dec 2005, the books for the first 2 years in Language and Mathematics in all 16 languages were ready for printing. In an international tender, the firm Cerigrafe (serigrafica?) won the bid. They have not in February 2008 delivered the books!

In July 2008, the books have still not arrived.
